WHO WE ARE

Echo Community Church is passionately committed to being and making disciples of Jesus… it's who we are.

It's what we do. We don’t consider ourselves religious experts.

You’ll also find that we don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we take our relationship with Jesus (and yours) very seriously.

At Echo, we’re all broken people in the process of being put back together. Our commitment is to lead you closer to Jesus by providing simple worship, solid teaching, and safe programs for your kids, tweens, and teens.

OUR STORY

On January 31, 2017 we celebrated our 6-year anniversary

In 2011, Echo Community Church was born. Echo was launched by Trinity Assembly of God to be the first off-site ministry campus of TrinityLife. The hope and vision for Echo was to provide an active, community-focused congregation serving the Perry Hall and White Marsh communities of northeast Baltimore. From the beginning, Echo has very much been a mobile church.

We are a permanent congregation in a temporary home. Our dedicated team of volunteers unloads the contents of a fully functional, modern church from our trailer into our worship venue to set up church every Sunday.

In our short history, we’ve worshipped in a movie theatre, a hotel ballroom, a convention center, and a campground. As we’ve grown, God has blessed us with our present home at Perry Hall High School.

In September 2012, Phil and Kendra Knauer accepted the invitation to relocate from South Atlanta and return home to Baltimore, serving as our Pastor at Echo Community Church. In January of 2015, Echo enthusiastically embraced a three-year vision plan to position ourselves to secure a permanent home for our ministry in the Perry Hall / White Marsh area.

BELIEFS

THE BIBLE

The Bible is God’s Word to us. It was written by human authors under the divine guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth and has first and final say in what a Christian believes and how a Christian lives. At Echo, the Bible trumps all.

GOD

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has always existed in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and one God.

JESUS CHRIST

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless, human life that we should have lived. He died the death we should have died by offering himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people through his death on a cross. He rose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present and active in the world to make us aware of our need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, an ability to understand spiritual truth, and guidance to do what is right.

AFFILIATION

Echo Community Church is one of four church campuses that together form TrinityLife

As a multi-site church community, each TrinityLife campus contributes and shares finances and certain centralized resources in our unified mission to make more disciples of Jesus all across the city of Baltimore.

As a campus of TrinityLife, Echo Community Church and Pastor Phil are under the leadership covering of TrinityLife’s Lead Pastor and elders. Echo’s congregation is locally led by Pastor Phil with support from our own pastoral and directional leadership teams.

Echo Community Church is an Assemblies of God affiliated church. The core tenants of what we believe can be found above in "Beliefs".
