WHO WE ARE

Echo Community Church is passionately committed to being and making disciples of Jesus… it's who we are.

It's what we do. We don’t consider ourselves religious experts.

You’ll also find that we don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we take our relationship with Jesus (and yours) very seriously.

At Echo, we’re all broken people in the process of being put back together. Our commitment is to lead you closer to Jesus by providing simple worship, solid teaching, and safe programs for your kids, tweens, and teens.

OUR STORY

Echo Community Church was born in 2011. The hope and vision for Echo was to provide an active, community-focused congregation serving the Perry Hall and White Marsh communities of northeast Baltimore.

In September 2012, Phil and Kendra Knauer accepted the invitation to relocate from South Atlanta and return home to Baltimore to serve as pastors at Echo Community Church. In January of 2015, Echo enthusiastically embraced a three-year vision plan to position ourselves to secure a permanent home for our ministry in the Perry Hall / White Marsh area

In June of 2018, Echo was planted by TrinityLife as a sovereign church by receiving General Council affiliation status with the Assemblies of God.

For a time, Echo was a  permanent congregation in a temporary home. Our dedicated team of volunteers unloaded the contents of a fully functional, modern church from our trailer into our worship venue to set up church every Sunday.

In 2020, we celebrated the dedication of our first Ministry Center and new home at 5020 Campbell Blvd in White Marsh.

In our short history, we’ve worshipped in a movie theatre, a hotel ballroom, a convention center, a high school, and a campground. As we’ve grown, God has blessed us with our present home!

We are trusting God as He leads us into the next steps of ministering to our local community in White Marsh and beyond.

SUNDAY EXPERIENCE

WORSHIP

One of the ways we express our worship to God at Echo is by singing songs of love to him as a church family. You can depend on our worship team and musicians to lead all of us in music and singing that is easy to follow, meaningful, and sincere.

GIVING

Another way we worship God is through giving of our finances. We provide an opportunity during our services for our church family to make a financial contribution to God through their tithes and offerings. Read more about GIVING.

TEACHING

Studying the Bible together is of supreme importance at Echo. Every week our pastor teaches clearly from the Bible. We make every effort to better understand God and carefully apply what the Bible teaches to the way we live and the choices we make. We use media, printed notes, humor, illustrations, and more to communicate the truth of the Bible to in a way that is both memorable and meaningful to you.

PRAYER

At the conclusion of our services, our pastors and leaders make themselves available to pray one-on-one with anyone in our church family who needs it.

BELIEFS

THE BIBLE

The Bible is God’s Word to us. It was written by human authors under the divine guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth and has first and final say in what a Christian believes and how a Christian lives. At Echo, the Bible trumps all.

GOD

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has always existed in three persons: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and one God.

JESUS CHRIST

Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is co-equal with the Father. Jesus lived a sinless, human life that we should have lived. He died the death we should have died by offering himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people through his death on a cross. He rose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and will return again someday to earth to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit is co-equal with the Father and the Son of God. He is present and active in the world to make us aware of our need for Jesus Christ. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, an ability to understand spiritual truth, and guidance to do what is right.

AFFILIATION

On June 4th, 2018, Echo Community Church became an Assemblies of God General Council affiliated church.
