At Echo, we embrace a compassionate desire to provide much needed rest to parents and/or primary caregivers of students with special needs. Echo Respite Care events offer 3 hours of safe, structured, and staffed care for special needs students and their siblings while their parents or primary caregivers enjoy a well-deserved break.
Our next Respite Care event is Saturday, November 22nd from 10a-1p!

At our Respite Care events, Echo provides:
- Compassionate adult volunteer staff who are each background checked, interviewed, trained, and onboarded for safe, responsible ministry to children.
- 3 hours of programming to include crafts, gross motor skills, music, motion, movement, and “brain breaks” along the way. Students will be organized into smaller groups of 10-12 students with a ratio of about 1 adult for every 2 students.
- On-site security and nurse to provide support for any needs that may arise.
- Sensory rooms for students in need of a calming environment.
- An opportunity for you to have a few hours of rest knowing that your child(ren) are in a safe place with people who will care for them.
We’re currently receiving registrations for children with special needs (ages 5–17) as well as their siblings living in the same household and within the same age range. While we’re thoughtfully working towards offering more areas of specialized support through staffing and resourcing, at this time, Echo’s Respite Care event team cannot provide support for the following:
- Children with self-injurious disorders
- Children who are not potty trained
- Children with specific needs requiring specialized support beyond our current resourcing and staffing
